At O’Brien Fine Foods, we have identified three Critical Focus Areas where we believe we can have the greatest impact in supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Climate Action

At O’Brien Fine Foods we understand that we all have a role to play in Climate Action. We are continuously reviewing our activities to ensure we are using sustainable and responsible environmental practices. All our sites’ environmental and energy management systems are moving towards an integrated ISO14001 and ISO 50001 certification, a framework for best practice and continuous improvement.

Explore new technologies and ways of working to improve our energy usage.
Improve our water use efficiency through technology upgrades and process changes.
Reduce our waste streams, and increase recycling rates, through staff awareness and supplier engagement.
Develop site specific biodiversity action plans, promoting protection and awareness.

The SBTi has approved O’Brien Fine Food’s near-term science-based emissions reduction target.

  • O’Brien Fine Foods commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 42% by 2030 from a 2021 base year.
  • O’Brien Fine Foods commits to reduce scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services 61% per tonne of product sold by 2030 from a 2021 base year.

Responsible Sourcing

At O’Brien Fine Foods we understand that our ability to make a positive environmental, social and economical impact throughout our products’ lifecycle relies on us building sustainable and responsible supply chains.

Our policy is to work with suppliers that share our values around environmental & social standards, good animal welfare practices and being a valued member of local communities. We make it our mission to support our suppliers on their sustainability journeys, working towards creating a more sustainable agricultural supply chain.
